An Amazing Resource
Ken Goodman’s book, The Emetophobia Manual, is a game changer. My daughter struggled with emetophobia since she was little, she’s now in her mid-20s. She went through multiple rounds of therapy, but even though that was somewhat helpful, she didn’t truly improve until we stumbled upon this book. Ken talks about the “anxiety monster” which is excellent for someone who suffers from anxiety of any kind. By removing the anxiety from oneself, and placing it in the form of a critter, Ken teaches the sufferer how to control and ignore the monster rather than the other way around. He lists concrete ways to overcome emetophobia through exposure exercises, reframing negative thoughts, using competing emotions…all in an entertaining book peppered with little drawings. Before this book, my daughter’s emetophobia was about a 15/10, now I’d say it’s around a 3. She has gone from practically non-functioning to thriving.
Thanks Ken, for this amazing book!

Definitely purchase if you are struggling!
After struggling with emetophobia my whole life, I decided I finally wanted to face my fears and free myself from the crippling anxiety. I came across The Emetophobia Manual while researching resources to help me get over my phobia, and I am so glad I did. Along with therapy, this book has helped significantly in changing my thought processes and behavioral reactions. Although I am not completely free from my fear of vomit, I have made incredible progress since the start of my healing journey. I believe this book had a big part to play in my healing, and it can help others as well who are looking to face emetophobia!

Super helpful!
This book has helped me get over my emetophobia. Through reading this book I have been able to use the tools and do things I used to be scared to do. I recently went on a trip where I was able to get on multiple planes and boats with little fear and when anxiety did come up I had the tools to control it. It has helped me so much and I will be forever grateful for this book.

If you want freedom, get this book!
Having struggled with emetophobia for over 20 years, this book helped me see that I could overcome my fear and live without constant worry and anxiety. Trust Ken and the process in the book. Start with baby steps and work your way up to harder and harder things. In the beginning, I never saw myself doing some of the exposures without anxiety and while they still may be uncomfortable, I’m no longer anxious. This book has changed my life!

This book has helped me overcome emetophobia
I recommend this book to anyone who has emetophobia. It’s easy to read and it’ll help you approach anxiety and this phobia with the right mentality. Before reading this book, I’d had emetophobia for 20 years but chose to ignore it for the most part. Last year it got unavoidable and that’s when I purchased this book. With the help of this book, I’m no longer triggered by vomit and am even flying on planes (a huge trigger for me). I had tried reading other books about emeto phobia but none of them resonated the way this one did. If you’re unsure whether to get this book, please purchase it! I thought I’d never be able to get better, but this book proved me wrong.
